Race Day Schedule of Events

6:30 am – Corrals and gear check open to participants, parking lots are open, music begins playing.

7:20 am – All participants should be in start corrals and ready to race

7:25 am – The national anthem will play and colors presented

7:30 am – The first wave is off!

8:45 am – Post race refreshments and food open for your enjoyment

9:00 am – 10k awards presented

10:00 am – Half marathon awards presented

10:30 am – Columbus Race Calendar – Buckeye Run Series awards presented

11:00 am – Course closes

Packet Pickup – UPDATED LOCATION

  • Race packet pickup will be held at Ill Mannered Brewing Company located at 30 Grace Dr, Powell, OH 43065
  • Packet Pickup will be open Thursday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm
  • If you need to pickup your packet on race day, you must select the option to do so during registration and pay the race day packet pickup upgrade fee. If you forgot to select the correct option during registration. You may purchase the upgrade HERE. The choice to upgrade will no longer be available as of the open of pre-race packet pickup.
  • There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION
  • Someone may pick up your packet for you by presenting a copy of your photo ID

Gear Check

Gear check will be available on race day beginning at 6:30 am. The gear check tent will be located near the start line. Any gear to be checked must be contained within the gear check bag given to each participant at packet pickup. Any other bags will not be accepted. For safety and security any bag left at gear check is subject to search at the discretion of race organizers and local authorities. Bag check personnel may refuse to accept any bag at their discretion.

Place the sticker given to you at packet pickup (number matches your bib number) on the outside of your bag in a visible location.

Start Waves (Corrals)

Start corrals will be assigned based on the estimated finish time given during registration. Take care to estimate your finish time accurately as you will be required to start with the wave/corral assigned on your race bib. Waves will be assigned as a letter of the alphabet with “A” representing the fastest pace. Failure to start with the correct wave is grounds for disqualification. The appropriate pace groups will start in their respective corral.

If your expected pace has changed from that given during registration you may send an email to racedirector@sciotoriverrun.com indicating the new estimated finish time you would like used to calculate your start wave. Please include your name and date of birth for identification purposes. After September 1st, corral/wave changes will no longer be accepted.

Awards & Age Groups

Awards will be given the the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female winners in each race as well as 1st in each gender age group for both race distances. All finishers receive a custom diecast medal and finisher’s shirt. Awards are based on Gun Time (Clock Time)

Weather Policy

Weather that is deemed by authorities to be unsafe for participants may result in the cancellation, postponement, or modification of the event. Notification of any such changes will be made via email and Scioto River Run social media.

Race Rules & Policies

  • Any participant who completes a distance other than the one indicated on their bib, will be disqualified. You may change divisions by contacting us in advance of the race, at packet pickup, or on race day at the information tent. If you plan to make a change, please do so as early as possible
  • Transfers ARE ACCEPTED but you MUST notify our team before the start of the race. Anyone caught wearing a bib not assigned to them will be disqualified
  • Advanced Packet Pickup is REQUIRED unless otherwise indicated during registration. If you are unable to attend advanced packet pickup and you did not pay the race day packet pickup convenience fee, you may add this feature to your registration by completing this form
  • The only thing allowed on the course is you and other Scioto River Run participants. No dogs, strollers, wheelchairs, or any other wheeled device will be allowed.
  • Headphones may be worn but volume must be kept at a level that allows you to hear instructions issued by officials
  • You are responsible for knowing the route you should be taking for the distance you are completing. The half marathon and 10k courses separate and re-merge. There will be signage and verbal instructions given at these locations but you are responsible for following them. We strongly suggest that you review the course map and note these critical locations
  • Negative behavior such as mis-treatment of volunteers, staff, timers, or  other participants is grounds for removal from the Scioto River Run and permanent ban from future events. Enjoy the accomplishment. Races are places for positivity
  • Refunds are not available under any circumstances
  • Porta potties will be available at various intervals along the course. Urination in public is illegal. Participants caught acting inappropriately in this regard will be ticketed by the appropriate authorities and disqualified from the Scioto River Run
